Here's what some clients had to say about their experiences with our Clinicians:

Your First Visit.

Your initial evaluation involves in-depth examinations of the health and function of a variety of systems relevant to your pains and/or disabilities, including muscular, skeletal, nervous systems (central & peripheral), and more. Our goal is to establish a specific plan of care to address your specific limitations.

Plan for 45-70 minutes. Dress in loose clothes or gym attire. Please bring any/all relevant information to your first appointment. This includes any diagnostic results such as MRI or CT-scan, running shoes, orthotics, full list of medications, or anything else that you believe might be relevant.

Is PT only for people who have had surgery?

There's a rumor that you only need physical therapy if you've had surgery or are suffering from painful injuries. Yes, we get great results after Joint Replacement Surgeries. Yes, physical therapy can help you get back to playing sports and return to doing the things you love to do.

BUT, physical therapy is much more than that. Across the world people use physical therapists to live a healthier and fuller life. From promoting longevity to preparing for marathons to helping factory workers do their job without re-injuring themselves.

Do I need to get a prescription from my doctor?

You DO NOT need a prescription from your doctor for a physical therapy evaluation in the State of Michigan.

It’s True! And, it’s called Direct Access (DA). DA is a law effective beginning January 1, 2015 that allowed anyone within the state of Michigan to see your physical therapist for up to 21 days or 10 treatment visits without needing a prescription from a physician. In some cases your insurance provider may still require you to get a referral, and in these cases Health Source will facilitate this process for you.
